Advanced mode has been added
v4.0.0 adds Advanced mode, which lets you place rails more freely.
Advanced mode can be turned on from Options in Settings. Compared with the normal mode, more rail types become available, making it easier to build layouts such as double-track railways.
Double-track layouts, curves with different radii, parallel rails, and island-station recognition for nearby parallel rails are explained in the separate article “How to Use Advanced Mode”.
Ground and elevated station placement limits have been removed
The placement limits for ground stations and elevated stations have been removed.
This makes it possible to place station buildings and platforms more freely, regardless of whether the rail is on the ground or elevated.
Station buildings and platforms are now handled in the same way
Station buildings and platforms are now both handled as stations.
Even when only platforms are placed continuously, trains can recognize them as a stopping area.
Station buildings and platforms are now treated as one stop area
Continuously placed station buildings and platforms are now treated as a single stop area.
When multiple station buildings or platforms are connected, trains stop near the center of the full stop area.
Station and platform rotation and post-placement controls have been improved
Some station buildings and platforms can now be rotated after placement.
Also, after placing a rotatable part, the same rail is selected again, making it easier to rotate the part immediately.
New narrow island stations and platforms have been added
New narrow island stations and platforms have been added. They make it easier to expand station layouts for double-track and parallel-rail designs.
Branch rails can now be created from slope rail ends
Branch rails can now be created from the ends of slope rails.
This gives you more freedom when connecting rails in layouts that use slopes.
Rails can now be placed above and below slope rails
Rails can now be placed above and below slope rails.
This makes it easier to create layouts where trains pass under a slope, or where rails at different heights run close to each other.
Station stop time has been adjusted
Station stop time has been adjusted.
The wait time before departure has been changed from 5 seconds to 3.5 seconds.
Driving mode camera behavior has been improved
When using Camera 1 in Driving mode, the camera now switches to follow the front car after the train turns back at the end of the rail.
This makes it easier to see the front of the train after it changes direction.
Train tilt on curves has been fixed
An issue where trains could tilt outward while running through curves has been fixed.
Trains now tilt naturally toward the inside of the curve.
The default point switch position has been changed
The default point switch position has been changed from R to L.
Other improvements
Several other bug fixes and behavior improvements have also been made.
